Shan Foods revolutionizes ‘Doctor Bahu’ of Pakistan in new TVC

by Grazia

Thousands of Pakistani women qualify as doctors every year, but half of them quit after they get married and have children. Some people want doctor brides, but they also want them to stay at home. In this context, Shan Foods has launched a new commercial, ‘#OathForHer’. Featuring Ushna Shah and Saba Faisal, the TVC takes forward the brand’s core communication and philosophy of appreciating women in all the roles they play. The ad film celebrates compassion and human kindness. It highlights the plight of doctor bahus as the backdrop to send a message of women having the freedom of choice. It combines the uplifting morale, showcases zest for humanity, and makes a lasting impression on all of us.

The film opens with Shah as the medical school graduate taking the oath to treat the ill to the best of her abilities. To perform her duties at the hospital, Shah gets support from her mother-in-law (Saba Faisal) and husband. Not just that, Faisal takes care of the child but also makes scrumptious food using Shan Karahi Masala. The high point of the TVC is when Shah pleasantly gets surprised to see Faisal visiting her at the hospital with the child and, of course, the food.

The concept urges people to opt for the ‘right’ thing to do, something good for their loved ones. Being a pillar of strong support can turn out to be something huge and life-changing. To seize such acts of kindness that bring joy and happiness is what Shan Food’s new ad campaign stands for and we’re loving it. The background score of the TVC also musically binds everything together.

The world needs some compassion, no matter what the scale and who the person is. A kind gesture is all you need. You don’t always have to make headlines with your act of kindness, which is exactly what the new television commercial of Shan Foods sheds light upon.
