The Pop TV series wins all 7 comedy categories setting a new Emmy record while Watchmen and Succession bag four nods each

The 72nd Emmy Awards which happen to be the first major entertainment awards kicking off the award season in our current pandemic-struck world were held today virtually for the very first time.

The ceremony was only unique in its presentation with the Creative Arts Awards were presented over the course of the following week with the main event held on Sunday honouring the best across major categories. Due to COVID-19, the event came to audiences virtually, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting alone in Los Angeles’ Staples Center while the winners and nominees appearing via video.
Although the event may have been low-key this year but the winners were quite the trailblazers as several fan favourites scored big. The most notable being the Pop TV comedy series Schitt’s Creek that for its sixth and final season won all seven awards in the comedy category while Euphoria starlet Zendaya bagged her first Best Actress Emmy in her first ever nomination while also becoming the youngest to ever win the award in the drama category.
