Five Fashion Trends That Should Never Ever Come Back

by Hafsa Tariq

Fashion trends that were a big hit back in the day but are now long gone and many actually wish that they never come back again

Gone are the times when people could get away with wearing anything. Nowadays, if you haven’t updated your wardrobe as per trend, people consider you a fashion dummy. Speaking of old times, let’s take a look at how some fashion trends used to be a big hit but have been forgotten now and honestly we are glad people got rid of them and have moved forward.

Ponchos

As fancy as it sounds, the look of this cape like dresses was a trendy piece of clothing back then. People would go out of the way and wear bright colourful ponchos on top of an already bright coloured dress which didn’t look flattering at all. Well, good thing this trend was in the past and people have stopped wearing it.

Low-rise jeans

We have gladly moved further away from these jeans which people thought made them look cool and not to forget the fact that it actually made a whole generation suffer from eating disorder just to fit in it. Whereas, today high-waist jeans have become popular and people have forgotten about the low-rise jeans because honestly nobody wants to know what brand of undies you’re wearing and see unnecessary crack peeks.

Body glitter

No offence to the people who still like body glitter, but a lot of others will probably agree on how hard it is to take this stuff off. Point being that it’s better if you stay far away from body glitters, because it will eventually make you look like an elf.

Dresses over Jeans

Jeans are supposed to be worn with a top and dresses are to be left alone. The idea of matching them together was a cringe fest and a nightmare for people living in the 21st century. Thank the lord that this trend didn’t carry on for too long.

Jelly shoes

Shoes made of PVC plastic and filled with glitter on the inside were the IT thing in the 80s and 90s. They made your feet look funny and smelled like plastic, but were also bad for your feet as the material was non-breathable and caused foot sweat. Yikes!
