Five Tips To Prevent Dry Skin This Winter

by Hafsa Tariq

It’s officially that time of the year where the weather becomes more confusing than people

One thing that we know for sure is no matter how much the weather changes, our skins are going to get dry and dull. To prevent this from happening here are a few simple steps to fight dry skin this winter

Moisturize

Even if you aren’t a beauty expert or know much about skincare, you still have to know that the first way to prevent dryness is to moisturize. Investing in a good moisturizer will help you get rid of the dryness. It is advisable to use an oil based moisturizer rather than the water based to ensure that your skin is being protected.

Hydration

Just like our bodies our skin needs to be hydrated too. Drinking water helps your skin looking fresh and healthy. You can even try some hydrating products or avoid long hot showers. If not all these, then simply put some oil on your face.

Exfoliate

If you are washing your face without exfoliating it properly you are simply wasting your time. Exfoliation helps you by removing all the dead skin from your face and leaves it like a fresh canvas. By removing all the dirt and dead skin off, your skin gets smoother and clearer.

No Matte makeup

Now is the time to put all your matte makeup aside, especially your foundation/BB creams. A dry foundation will make your skin look super dry and cracked and people would actually see your dry skin coming off. Buy liquid cosmetics that have light reflecting pigments like cream highlighters, cheek tints or creamy lip colors to make your face look dewy.

Beauty Sleep

Another reason why your skin is looking dull could be sleep deprivation. When you are asleep your skin regenerates and repairs itself. This is why having 7 to 9 hours of sleep is a must. While sleeping instead of applying your regular moisturizer, use a night cream so that it can tackle your skin issues while you are asleep.
