by Farah Khan

Who doesn’t like dancing during the wedding season, everyone wants to shake a leg once in a while, so here are 7 songs to play at a wedding and if not turn the volume up in your room.

Wedding season is here for Pakistanis and it is all about the glitz, the glamour and the desi thumkas. So we have some songs for you to dance off to, or make your grand bridal entrance or just listen to while you sit in the corner trying hard not to go and break a leg on the dance floor.

Kadi Te Hans

This latest number from the Velo Sound Station has everyone grooving. Atif Aslam’s voice is exactly what one needs to heat up the dance floor. If you take a listen to the chorus we bet you would not be able to stop dancing to it.

Lal Ghagra

This is probably the national anthem of wedding songs. It never gets old. And even if you are not wearing a Lal ghagra, you’d still want to flaunt your dress and twirl around it in the middle of the dance floor, owning the song and the moves. We know you got them.

O Saki Saki

This song is for those people who say that they don’t know how to dance, but when the beat drops they are grooving as if it ain’t nobody’s business. Trust us we’ve seen ladies break a leg to this sultry song, and we can’t blame them.

Bole churiyan

The classic Indian girl squad song. If there are any brides reading this, get your girl squad ready to rehearse a few steps to this oldie, as it is never going out of style just like poo and ‘PHAT’

Chitta kukad

Here we have the classic Punjabi song. The best part is, you can use this song as an entrance song, or on the dance floor, or you can just play it in the background when everyone is busy talking or eating and trust us it will bring all the feels of a desi wedding. P. S. we love the version sung by Neha Bhasin.

Main Tera

We have all been listening to this song make rounds on the social media, and probably some of us even edited our crushes pictures and played this in the background imagining a wedding scenario. But what better way to use this track other than as a bride’s or a groom’s entrance song. We can literally imagine everyone eyeing their loved one’s from across the wedding hall or just swaying to mai tera, mai tera, mai tera, mai tera…

Tali de Thalay

If you are having a mehndi or a dholki, trust us this is a song you do not want to miss out on. With the beautiful voice of Nazia Hassan in the background Tali de Uthay is a classic with beautiful lyrics and music that we’d want to dance to with our friends. You don’t even have to rehearse anything for this one, the music will flow in to your veins and your body will do the rest.
