Margot Lee’s mother starts to ignore her calls and messages. Margot is baffled by this behaviour and therefore decides to make a surprise visit to her hometown – Koreatown, L.A. The stellar surprises that unfold following her visit makes Margot realise that there is more to her mother Mina than is seen on the surface.
Going back in time, thirty years earlier from 2014, Mina Lee moved to America from Korea to begin a new life and live her American dream. She started working at a local Korean grocery store and ended up falling in love. But that one small event had shattering consequences for Mina, and her life which she left behind in Seoul.

A comparison between a Korean mother and her Korean American daughter’s views about the world and how they cope up with each other is going to be a real treat to read, especially for Korean enthusiasts!
