Clip, file, and buff

Trim your fingernails to your preferred length and file gently, moving in one direction to get your tips square, round, or somewhere in between. Then, lightly glide a nail buffer across each nail for a few seconds to create a smooth surface.
Pro tip: Hold the file flush to your nail and tilt it so you file from slightly underneath, to see exactly what you’re doing and prevent over-filing.

Soak your hands in warm water

Place your hands in a bowl of warm water and add in a gentle face cleanser to the water. Soak your hands for three minutes or less.
Pro tip: Avoid over-soaking as that can damage your skin and nails.

Care for your cuticles

Rub in cuticle oil directly on your cuticles using your fingertips, to help dissolve dead skin and soften the area. Then, softly but firmly push back the cuticle with a cuticle stick to reveal the nail plate to make the nail look more elongated.
Pro tip: Avoid cutting your cuticles as they protect your nails from bacteria and keep them soft.

Exfoliate your hands

Exfoliate hands, wrists, and forearms with a scrub that eliminates dead skin cells and replenishes moisture. Scrub your nails with a nail brush and a bit of water to remove excess cuticle and calluses around the nail. Wash hands afterward and dry them thoroughly.
Pro tip: Grab your cuticle stick again to gently clean any grime from under your nails.

Moisturize your hands and cuticles

Give yourself a hand massage with a light moisturizer to relax your hands and promote cuticle hydration.
Pro tip: Swipe each nail with a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover to get rid of the residue.

Paint your nails

Apply a coat of your color of choice, be sure to get the brush all the way down to the cuticle and into the corners of your nail.
Pro tip: Apply a base coat before applying nail polish, to ensure even color application, and prevent the nail polish from staining your nails. Also add a top coat to help seal the color, and prevent it from chipping.
