Grazia: You, a former pageant girl hold titles such as Miss Pakistan world, Miss Pakistan Earth, competed in the Philippines at Miss Earth, Miss Grand Pakistan, and also competed at Miss Grand International in Thailand. Tell us what is the most difficult and interesting thing about beauty contests for you?
Ramina: Pageantry has been an incredible journey that shaped me into the woman I am today. It instilled in me ambition, discipline, and the tools to grow personally and professionally. As a Pakistani woman, breaking barriers in the pageant world was a source of immense pride. Throughout this journey, my husband was a constant pillar ofsupport, standing by me every step of the way. The most challenging aspect of beauty contests was the rigorous preparation and competition, which demanded dedication and resilience. Yet, the most fascinating part was the opportunity to meet extraordinary women from diverse backgrounds worldwide. I formed deep friendships and learned invaluable lessons from contestants representing their countries. Ultimately, pageantry opened doors to my success as a business owner today. I am grateful for every title I held and for the opportunities they afforded me. Pageantry enriched my life and empowered me to inspire others and make a meaningful impact in my community and beyond.
Grazia: What do you think is the secret of your success?
Ramina: The secret of my success, I believe, lies in a genuine passion for what I do and a deep-seated desire to create something meaningful and unique. From the outset, my motivation has never been solely about financial gain but rather about pursuing my passion and realizing my dream of creating something of my own in the world of stylish medical clothing. I’ve always worked from the heart, pouring my energy and creativity into every aspect of my brand. This approach not only fuels my determination but also resonates with others, creating a genuine connection with customers who appreciate authenticity and passion in the products they choose. Additionally, I strongly believe in the power of manifestation. Visualizing success, setting clear intentions, and taking purposeful action toward my goals have been pivotal. By consistently aligning my thoughts and actions with my aspirations, I’ve been able to navigate challenges and seize opportunities that have propelled my brand forward. In essence, my success is a result of following my passion, staying true to my vision, and embracing the journey with sincerity anddetermination. Grazia: You are united by the same profession; in addition to your modelingcareer, you have a brand of stylish medical clothing. How does your husband help you develop your brand?
Ramina: My husband, who is a physician associate and also runs his own business plays a crucial role in the journey of developing my brand of stylish medical scrubs called Ashh Scrubs. As a registered nurse and entrepreneur, I felt compelled to create this brand because I’ve always believed that healthcare professionals deserve scrubs that are not only comfortable and practical but also stylish and more flattering. With his support, I’ve been able to turn my dream of creating stylish medical clothing into a thriving reality. His belief in my ideas and dedication to our brand empowers me to push boundaries and innovate in the healthcare apparel industry. Together, we’re making a difference by offering healthcare professionals clothing that not only meets their practical needs but also makes them feel confident and valued in their roles.
Grazia: The most important news of the issue is your wedding, tell us about it, where it took place, how many guests there were, and of course about the outfits!
Ramina: Imagine a wedding that surpassed even the wildest fairytale dreams — that’s exactly what our destination wedding at Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico, turned out to be. Thanks to the meticulous planning by iRock Weddings, every detail was a picture-perfect reflection of our love story. We chose Cancun for its breathtaking beauty and the Moon Palace Resort provided an exclusive backdrop that was nothing short ofmagical. Our celebrations spanned three incredible events on the same day: the lively sangeet, the heartfelt nikkah ceremony, and a beautiful Hindu ceremony, each imbued with cultural richness and love. The third day was reserved for an unforgettable reception that capped off our fairy tale journey. What made the experience even more special were the Pakistani designer outfits that adorned us throughout. For the sangeet, I wore a mesmerizing creation by Ahmad Sultan; the nikkah ceremony saw me in anelegant ensemble from Republic; and a stunning piece by Gulaal completed the fairytale look for the reception. My husband’s attire perfectly complemented mine, making us feel like characters from a storybook. Despite being intimate with just 80 cherished guests, every moment felt larger than life. It was a celebration where love and joy overflowed, surpassing any fairytale I could have ever imagined. Our wedding truly was a dream come true, woven with love, culture, and the beauty of Cancun’s shores.
Grazia: How do you make mixed backgrounds work? How and when did you bothdecide to get married? Did any of you need to convince your families?
Ramina: Making our mixed backgrounds work has been a journey rooted in mutualrespect, understanding, and the unwavering support of our families. From the outset, we’ve approached our relationship with openness and a deep appreciation for each other’s cultural and personal backgrounds. This foundation of respect has been pivotal in bridging any differences and celebrating the richness of our diverse heritages. The decision to marry was a natural evolution of our love and shared values. We recognized early on that we wanted to build a future together, grounded in mutual admiration and support. Our families, whom we are incredibly grateful for, have been instrumental inembracing our relationship. Their unwavering support and love for us as a couple have been a cornerstone of our journey. Fortunately, we didn’t face significant challenges in gaining our families’ approval. Their understanding and acceptance of our relationship mirrored our own, making the process of bringing our families together a joyous and harmonious experience. Their support has not only strengthened our bond but also enriched our lives immeasurably. In essence, our journey as a couple and as individuals navigating mixed backgrounds has been one of unity, respect, and shared love. We feel truly blessed to have families that not only support but celebrate our love, making our path to marriage a seamless and joyful chapter in our lives.
Grazia: Any tips for those who are planning their wedding? Tips for brides and grooms?
Ramina: The biggest tip I can give to anyone planning their wedding is to seriously consider hiring a wedding planner. Initially, my husband and I were completely overwhelmed. We had no clue where to start or how to bring our dream wedding to life. Bringing in a professional planner not only eased our stress but also ensured every detail was meticulously taken care of. When people ask us about wedding planning, we both agree: it was the easiest thing we’ve ever done, thanks to our planner.
