Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the creators of Gossip Girl have come up with a new tv show ‘Dynasty’ with the similar pizzazz and vogue theme.
As the reboot of the 80’s classic enters its fourth season with mounted vogue, glamour and shine, the show’s popularity has got many of us hooked to the screens and drool over those silky drapes and the hefty designer dresses.
The show’s lead Fallon Carrington played by actress Elizabeth Gillies exhibits an assertive, chic, manipulative and of course a rich woman vibe. The aura of extravagance and chic style has got the fans calling her the ‘queen of the queens’. Fans claim her giving the Blair Waldorf vibes.
Does that ring a bell from the past? The crazy, troublemaker and moody women wrapped up in ridiculously expensive brands; it is not Joan Collins but the classic Blair Waldorf.
Let’s peek in parallels of the characters:
The Gucci Style
When it’s Carringtons or Waldorfs, it’s a Gucci game or no game at all. Both Fallon and Blair are seen donning Gucci like their lounge wear throughout their respective shows.
Both the actresses adorned the high-fashion brand with an air of confidence; let it be Blair’s dresses or Fallon’s suits, they just Gucci it so well! The attires hugged their bodycon figures like second skin.
Taste in toxic men
Both Blair and Fallon strike as strong individuals who empower extensive business. But guess where they tripped? The ‘man’ business. Both divas are seen caught up in a romantic love affair with a somewhat similar type of guy. Fallon’s Jeff Colby has a similar dark past like the iconic Mr. Blair; Chuck Bass.
Manipulation
One element that replicates piece by piece and builds up the two protagonists; Blair and Fallon is the manipulation. You don’t cross lines with these multi-billionaire divas and the ‘mood-women’ what they call them.
Remember when Jenny tried to get Blair’s crown? The poor girl got into Blair’s crosshair and tasted Queen B’s sly tactics. Well, she never crossed paths with Blair again.
Similarly, when Cristel Carrington tried to take up the COO position at Fallon’s family company, and not to forget Fallon’ fight with her own mother. They got to taste the same pill; the manipulation. Just like Blair would do, Fallon created this mischievous maze to ingress her way to the position.
We are all excited for the new season of the show for Fallon to stir up some more drama and serve even more fashion inspo.
