Intermittent Fasting –The Easiest and Healthiest Way To Lose Weight

With most of us locked at home for most of the time and not being able to go to the gym is leading to us worry about our health and weight.Intermittent fasting is one effective way to counter such a lifestyle problem.

Our eating habits have become rather unhealthy over the last few months due to the lockdown and then not being able to go to the gym even after it ended. Sitting in front of the laptop, binge-watching season after season and eating food all day without any exercise can prove to be very dangerous.

The intermittent fasting is an effective lifestyle choice that can allow you to keep healthy and fit during such times. It is currently one of the biggest health trends in the world and here are the three most effective ways of observing an intermittent fast.

16/8 method
The 16/8 method requires you to skip one meal every day of the week and fast for 14 to 16 hours. There can either be an 8 or 10 hour window where you can eat what you want and taking a good amount of food intake during this time is very important as you’ll be fasting for a long time.

Either the breakfast or dinner is skipped depending, again, on you and preference. If you choose to skip the dinner then you get to have meal the next day, and then start your fast again after your eating window has passed and a similar cycle if followed should you choose to skip breakfast.

Another important think to keep in mind is that during these fast you can drink water or any other zero calorie beverages. Anything with calories even if it is minimal is completely prohibited during the time frame of the fast.

Eat stop Eat method

The eat stop eat method requires you to fast for two days in the week and eat normally for the rest of the five days. The catch here is that you must fast for 24 hours straight. How this works is that you only have one meal in the day and then get to eat the next day. For instance, if you have lunch, then you will not get to eat till the next day’s lunch.

Also it is important to understand that the one meal that you have must be a hefty one and have a high calorie intake. Not keeping that in check could lead to a bit of weakness in the long run. Like the other method water intake is allowed along with other zero calorie beverages.

5:2 Diet

If the two methods above seem to be too challenging, then the 5:2 diet is another way of implementing the intermittent fast in your life. In this method you can eat normally for five days of the week and eat low amounts of calories for two days. The calorie intake for those two days has to be, 500 for women and 600 for men.  The calories can be divided into two meals of 250 calories for women and 300 for men.
