Everything You Must Have In Your Pandemic Travel Kit

by Rimshah Kamran

Many of us had to put a halt to our summer plans this year. However, recently many countries have given the green light to travel within the country. It has likely ignited wanderlust in many of us to explore our homeland like never before. One question is left to answer, what essentials to pack in a pandemic travel kit?

This summer, the travel industry is re-emerging out of lockdown. It has filled many of us with a jittery itch to unleash the explorer in us. Although it is recommended to avoid non-essential travel, for some individuals the excitement of travelling again cannot be restrained. So, here are some of the essentials to pack in this pandemic before you hit the road:

A Suitcase Luggage Versus a Carry-On Travel Bag
Coronavirus is still breeding, y’all! It is waiting in a corner of a crowded place, zooming in on its next victim. To reduce your chances of contracting COVID-19, opt for a carry-on bag as opposed to a check-in bag. Why?

You will not have to wait for your luggage to arrive in a potentially crowded area, such as a luggage carousel. Moreover, it will be easier to place items from your pockets into a carry-on bag when going through a security checkpoint. However, if you do check-in your travel bag, make sure to use a disinfecting wipe to clean it.

Potential Accessories to Carry

It can be a cumbersome task to clean the entire area you are sitting in. Believe it or not, you can find recyclable airplane seat covers as well. There are also foldable stands that can be placed on a surface or attach to a seat back for hands-free use of electronics. As a result, this will reduce the number of times you have to clean a device.

Hand Sanitizer

It is imperative to maintain good hand hygiene. Always wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. If you touch a surface or when soap is not available, squeeze a 60%-70% alcohol-based hand sanitizer on your hand and rub it thoroughly all over your hands.

Refreshments

Some airlines have made changes in their hospitality service, such as in-flight meals and refreshments. Hence, before you start packing, check with the airline or bus company if and what they are serving. It would be better to pack refreshments to avoid unnecessary interactions.

Face Mask

This goes without saying, but wearing a face mask is the new norm. Although face shields and hazmat suits are not a requirement for travelling, many countries have made wearing a face mask mandatory in indoor public spaces and on public transits. Some things to remember: wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth, once on avoid touching it, and carry extras.

You see, it is not enough to keep up-to-date with your country’s pandemic regulations. It is also imperative to know the laws of the province you are visiting and the pandemic rules of the chosen mode of transportation.
