by Zara Hassan

You’ve eaten beef samosas and potato samosas, but have you ever had chocolate samosas? If you love samosas, then this chocolate samosa recipe is the one for you. This is the perfect desert to open your fast with at Iftar. Not only is it filling, but its chocolatey, and its something I bet you’ve never had before.

Ingredients
2 1/2 cup dark chocolate or milk chocolate
3 1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 cup refined oil
2 1/2 tbsp pistachios (optional)
2 cup sugar
8 tsp caster sugar
4 tbsp ghee

Directions
Melt the chocolate of your choice (dark or milk) and set it aside in a separate bowl.
In another bowl, mix the caster sugar, all purpose flour and ghee together. The mixture should appear thick and crumbly. Add water continuously until the dough becomes rigid. Freeze this dough in your fridge for about 10 minutes.
To create the chocolate filling, mix the pistachios, melted chocolate and the left over caster sugar.
Now take the refrigerated dough out, and cut them into thin 2 inches strips or sheets.
Place the chocolate – pistachio filling in the sheets and fold them to make samosas. Do this process with the rest of the samosas.
Lastly, deep fry the samosas until they turn golden in color. Once your done, soak up the excess oil from the samosas and place them on a dish.
For the last touch, drizzle chocolate syrup over them!
