3 Homemade Drinks That Will Keep You Hydrated

Here are 3 drinks you can make under 5 minutes at home and stay hydrated during the month of Ramadan.

Watermelon Slush
Watermelon is an ideal drink to boost hydration as it’s made up of 92 percent water, and has high salt, calcium and magnesium content.

Ingredients
2 cups cubed seedless watermelon
2 cups ice cubes
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
1/3 cup white sugar
Fresh mint/lime slice (optional)

Method
Add the cubed seedless watermelon and ice cubes into the blender.
Pour in the fresh lime juice and white sugar in the blender and blend until the mixture has a smooth consistency.
Garnish with fresh mint and a lime slice.

oconut water 
Coconut water is low in carbohydrates, rich in potassium and is one of the most hydrating drinks.

Ingredients
1 cup of coconut water
1/4 cup of tender coconut
1 teaspoon of sugar/honey
Mint leaves
1 lemon
Ice cubes

Method
Make a hole in the coconut and take the water out in a bowl. With the help of a spoon, remove the tender coconut from inside the coconut shell.
In a blender, add the coconut water, the coconut pulp, the sugar/honey, mint leaves and lemon juice and blend until the mixture has a smooth consistency.
Pour into a glass and add ice cubes.

Pina Colada
Pina Colada, made with the combo of pineapple and coconut water  is guaranteed to quench your thirst and keep you hydrated.

Ingredients
1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
3/4 cup coconut water 
2 tablespoons full-fat coconut milk/cream 
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Ice cubes

Method
Add the frozen pineapple chunks, coconut water and lemon juice in a blender and blend until the mixture has a smooth consistency.
Add full-fat coconut milk/cream and blend again.
Pour in a glass and add ice.
Garnish with a pineapple slice or coconut powder.
