5 Ways To Easily Remove Tan At Home

Summers and tanning go hand in hand – just like a symbiotic relationship. No matter how much you try and take precautions such as going out after applying sunscreen, wearing hats etc, you will get tanned. And this tanned skin of yours will take multiple days to get back to its original colour. So here are 5 ways to easily remove tan at home without putting in much efforts.

Tomato
Tomatoes have an abundance of phytochemicals that are helpful in reversing damage caused by UV rays. These natural compounds also naturally lighten the skin tone.

How to use:
1. Make a paste of 1 tomato and mix it with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice until consistent.
2. Apply it on tanned parts.
3. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse with cold water.

How many times: Twice a week.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has been used, time and again, in so many moisturizers and face creams because it is rich in phenolic acid which protects the skin against tanning.

How to use:
1. You need 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of powdered almonds and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
2. Prepare a thick paste using the above-mentioned ingredients.
3. Apply it on tanned parts.
4. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
5. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.

How many times: Once every week.

Tea
Black Tea or Desi Chai (but without milk) has anti – melanogenic properties which are known for reversing excessive pigmentation and very dark tanning. It also protects your skin against sun damage and naturally improves blood circulation under your skin – making you feel recharged.

How to use:
1. Mix 1 teaspoon of black tea and 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder into a paste of optimum consistency.

2. Add a little bit of rose water to the above-mentioned mixture and apply it on tanned parts.
3. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
4. Wash it off with cold water.

How many times: Twice every week.

Papaya
Papaya is a very good exfoliant and helps remove dead skin very easily. It also moisturises skin and retains its innate hydration.

How to use:
1. Mix Papaya puree and 3 drops of lemon juice to a scrub like paste.
2. Apply it on tanned parts.
3. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
4. Rinse it with cold water.

How many times: Once in two weeks.
If lemon juice does not irritate your skin, you can then add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice because it is helpful in lightening dark spots.

Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera’s gel and juice are rich in antioxidants which inhibit pigmentation of skin, reduces tan patches and gives skin back its natural glow.

How to use:
1. Mix 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and 1 tablespoon of honey together to an optimum consistency.
2. Take 1 cucumber and grind it to turn it into a scrub like paste.
3. Add the aloe vera gel mixture into the cucumber paste and mix it all well until you achieve a thick consistency.
4.
Apply it on tanned parts.
5. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
6. Rinse it with cold water.

How many times: Once every week.
