Dr Fraaz Ahmed Mirza is a UK trained family dental surgeon based in Dubai, with a special interest in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) and Invisalign treatment. He graduated in Dentistry from the University of Liverpool in 2012 and completed postgraduate training in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry
at the University of Manchester in 2015. After a decade practising in the UK, he relocated to Dubai in 2022, where he founded his own clinic before joining Dental Studio. An Invisalign provider since 2018, his work has earned recognition in both the UK and UAE, and he now also mentors and teaches other dentists as an Invisalign speaker.
For Dr Fraaz Ahmed Mirza, dentistry has never simply been about teeth. It is about the quiet, cumulative weight of discomfort that patients carry for years, often without realising its source, and the relief that comes when that weight finally lifts.
His path into the profession began at the University of Liverpool, where he graduated in Dentistry in 2012. Three years later, he deepened his expertise with postgraduate training in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of Manchester. A decade of practice in the UK followed, before a move to Dubai in 2022 marked a new chapter, one that saw him establish his own clinic and later join Dental Studio. Across this journey, his interests have steadily gravitated towards the disciplines he finds most meaningful. “My work has naturally evolved towards the areas of dentistry
I find most rewarding,” he reflects, “particularly helping patients move away from pain and discomfort and towards confidence, comfort and a smile that feels like their own.”
Much of his clinical attention today is devoted to temporomandibular joint disorders, commonly known as TMD. It is a condition that hides in plain sight. “Many patients live for years with headaches, jaw tension, clenching, grinding and facial discomfort without fully understanding what may be contributing to their symptoms,” he explains. It is precisely this unravelling that draws him in. “I particularly enjoy helping patients make sense of these problems, identifying the factors involved and working towards relieving their discomfort,” he says, adding that watching a patient move from chronic pain back into everyday comfort is “incredibly rewarding.”
That same guiding philosophy extends into his restorative and aesthetic practice, where he has developed a particular interest in full mouth rehabilitation and smile design, especially for patients whose teeth have become worn, damaged or uncomfortable. His approach resists the notion that aesthetic dentistry should produce a smile that looks artificial or overdone. “The best result is one that complements the individual, respects their natural features and feels completely at home in their face,” he says. Function and longevity matter just as much to him as appearance. “Creating something beautiful is important, but creating something beautiful that will continue to serve a patient well for many years is what I value most,” he notes.
Despite these specialised interests, Dr Fraaz remains, at heart, a general dentist. He takes evident pride in offering comprehensive care, from “routine examinations and preventive care to restorative treatment, extractions, Invisalign and more complex rehabilitation,” ensuring patients are supported at every stage of their dental health.
His relationship with Invisalign began in 2018, and the years since have brought recognition in the form of awards in both the UK and the UAE. Today, he extends that expertise beyond his own clinic, speaking on behalf of Invisalign and mentoring fellow dentists, sharing, in his words, “the experience I have gained through treating my own patients.”
At its core, what draws Dr Fraaz to dentistry is the interplay between health, function and confidence. “Whether I
am helping someone become free from longstanding pain, rebuilding worn teeth or creating a new smile, my aim is always the same,” he says, “to provide thoughtful, personal dentistry that feels natural, works beautifully and is made to last.”
