Why a Winter Staple Should Not Be Packed Away for The Summer

Scarves – they help us stay cozy on a snowy day but we’re quick to throw them off as soon as the days get longer and warmer. Some may opt for the traditional fleece, wool or Cashmere (sorry, you could never style those for the summer). There’s still the choice between cotton, linen, chiffon or silk; those of you are in luck. You’d usually think to wear them around your neck, but that’s just 1 option! Here’s different ways you can style them to feel easy-breezy and chic in the summer.

As a belt
As surprising as that sounds, scarves can make for great belts (only for stylish purposes and not so much to ensure a snug fit!) All you need is a scarf of your choice; something that adds a pop of color to an all-black outfit, or something that matches with your bag or shoes. Put it through your belt loops and tie together in the front or on one side.

To customize your handbag
This is another common use of a scarf. To add a little something to the look of a solid colored bag, scarves are a great option. You can wrap it around the handles or tie a bow on one side.

As stylish headgear
Headbands, bandanas or simply tying a scarf-knot over a ponytail can be great ways to accessorize your look with minimal effort.

As clothing
Yes, you can use a big scarf as clothing! A beach wrap around, a dress and a top are amongst the many options.

As a face mask
Amidst the global pandemic, if you are someone whose job requires ypu to leave your home, you could try to switch out your surgical mask for a scarf! If you are a big fan of the idea, you could then try to DIY the scarf and add elastic for the ears.

As a traditional scarf
Of course, you can wear your scarf as a scarf – but even the styles of wearing it around your neck have evolved. Try out a new method!
