Although amidst all the chaos, Beth Harmon find herself attracted to the most unusual game for a child, chess. And under the guidance of the caretaker of the orphanage, Beth Harmon master’s chess, the most intellectual games of all time. Ann Taylor-Joy has done a wonderful job portraying the role of Beth Harmon, and for keeping us glued to our screens.
The series also identifies the life lessons given through the game of chess, focusing on the positive and negative impacts of how a person plays through a series of game. The direction of the series focuses on prodigies, people with a superhuman ability to play the game.
The series is full of drama, agonizing chess moves, nail biting scenarios, and breath-taking outfits, the cinematography transforms the viewer directly in to the era it is set in, with the show set being rich in detail and evoking the ambiance which is needed to transport one into the series.
Queen’s Gambit will take you into the world of a young woman, her struggles with life, her addiction with alcohol, pill, and her determination to take over the challenge of defeating one of the world’s finest chess player, who also happens to be a Russian, and makes it her life goal.
