5 Easy Tricks to Get Fuller Lips Naturally

by Pakhi Rajesh Kumar Dixit

Thanks to social media, everyone is trying to get large, soft and kissable lips! Lips and eyes have always been considered to be one of the most attractive features of a person’s face therefore everybody, everywhere in the world want to enhance and beautify them.

Usually people who belong to the film, beauty or fashion industries get surgeries done but it is not the most convenient option for someone who cannot simply spend crazy amount of money on a lip surgery/filler, moreover, the recovery time is way longer than perceived, and everyone seems to react differently to the procedures. So, here we have a few tips to help you give your lips that little ‘Oomph’ and with it, you get soft and healthy lips for free!

Brushing your lips twice a week

Yes, you read that right! You should take out time to brush your lips regularly. Brushing with a toothbrush and toothpaste will help increase the blood circulation to your lips. This, in turn, will help make your lips look plumper. Make sure you do not go hard on them because you might end up with cuts.
This should be the first step in your plumper-lips regime, before you move onto the next step. Because flaky lips reflect less light, which means, if you have flaky lips, they will automatically look smaller than they actually are. Also due to circulation and increased blood flow, your lips will naturally have a slight rose tint to them.

Use Natural Lip Scrubs & Essential Oils

Lip scrubs can also help you get plumper lips. Try something with cinnamon, pepper or peppermint since these have mildly irritant properties, making your lips swell up.
Essential oils like peppermint or tea-tree oil can also act as irritants on your lips and can make your lips look plump.
Do not use essential oils directly instead add a drop or two of an essential oil to a carrier oil like coconut oil and then apply for best results. Using a carrier oil as base will prevent your lips from burning.

Use Sunscreen & Drink Enough Water

Sun protection is as important for your lips as it is for your skin because UV rays speed up collagen loss and that hinders body’s natural ability to produce the natural collagen to an appropriate level. Try to use products that have traces of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The ones with moisturizing properties of hyaluronic acid, prove to be the best.
“Keep yourself hydrated “– this fact cannot be stressed upon enough (we have all heard it from our mothers, doctors and beauticians). Just not for your body, water is also necessary for your lips, because if you are dehydrated, your lips automatically become dry and shriveled. And then, none of the tips will work as effectively as they essentially should.

Lipsticks & Illusion

Drinking water, exfoliating your lips and using sunblock form a basic premise for plum lips but if you are looking for fuller lips instantly, you can use makeup smartly.  Use a lip liner that is one or two shades darker than your natural lip colour, before applying lipstick. Trace just the outside of your natural lip line and then use a lipstick that is near to your natural shade. Darker colours are avoided because they make your lips look flat. Apply a little clear lip gloss or a shade that comes closer to your lipstick and dab onto the centre of your lips. As lip gloss tends to reflect more light, their use creates an illusion of a fuller lip.
For even lips, apply one shade of layering colour all over your mouth, then brush it with a slightly lighter colour in the middle of your lips.

Concealer & Lip Balm

As cliché as it may sound, you should apply concealer before and after every time you use a lipstick to blur the line between your lips and face. Use a thin brush and cover up the outsides of your lined lips with a concealer. Then go on to filling your lips with matching lipstick. It will make your lipstick enhance its effects thus giving you a more cottony look.
Lip balms are essential and should not be ignored! Your lips are one of the softest features of your face, so they demand to be hydrated. Use a lip balm every time you wash your face or come out of a bath. They work best if lips are already a bit moist.
Happy pampering!
