Out of the many dramas that go on air only a few become a massive hit and remain memorable. Even out of these successful dramas there are only handfuls that strike a special bond with the audience and that’s solely owing to their cast.

A good cast can make or break a drama and luckily we have seen a huge influx of talented actors this past year who have been doing a stupendous job.
Out of these brilliant breakthrough performers, we have listed down the five actors who have captured a lot of attention given their strong performances and on screen charisma.

Wahaj Ali
While he started off with the drama IshqIbadat a few years ago, Wahaj Ali has recently come across as one of the brightest young talents in the industry.
After appearing in a string of projects such as Ahsaas, Gila and Mera Dard Na Jaane Koi, Wahaj starred as the main lead opposite Aiman Khan in Geo TV’s romance tale ‘Hari HariChunriyan’ in 2017. The same year he was also seen in the A-Plus supernatural romantic serial Dil Nawaz costarring NeelumMunir and Minal Khan.

The drama in fact brought Wahaj to the forefront as the audience and critics loved his acting in this charming and loveable character.
Soon after Dil Nawaz, Wahaj was signed on to play one of the male leads in the television series Ehd-e-Wafa — a tale of four college friends as they make their way through life and society. The drama that aired on Hum TV proved to be a massive success for the actor.
Wahaj received an immense amount of love and appreciation for his portrayal of Shariq — a naïve small town boy who finds himself stuck in a corrupt system, and its implications on his career and life.

His onscreen chemistry with costar HajraYamin was also one of the highlights of the show and it won’t be wrong to say that Wahaj was the only of his three co-actors who looked the part of a college student — which speak for his versatility itself.
The actor is currently seen in the drama Bikhray Moti costarring NeelumMunir which has already struck a chord with the viewers.

Ameer Gilani
In a dearth of young romantic leads, Ameer Gilani has come across as nothing but a blessing in disguise.

The young and the very charming actor who had made his debut with a semi-successful drama series a year ago, has become a household name with his performance in the raging hit Sabaat.
Being paired opposite one of the biggest names in the industry MawraHocane and sharing screen space with another talented actor Sarah Khan, Ameer has managed to keep the audience captivated as well as impressed critics with his candid acting and screen presence.

Although his character started with the typical rich spoilt boy falls in love with a poor girl and the whole forbidden romance route, Ameer has been able to spin it in his favour and make the audience fall in love with him through his honesty and sincerity to the craft that can be seen in his acting.
While he is winning applause for his portrayal till now, it’ll be interesting to see what the actor has in store for us next.

Alizeh Shah
After debuting with a few smaller roles in projects like ‘TereNaal Love Hogaya’, Daldal and Chotti Si Zindagi; Alizeh Shah bagged an award winning role in the Hum TV drama Ishq Tamasha.
Known for her girl next door looks and beautiful big eyes, Alizeh has been one of the promising new faces on the small screen while she has also been seen in the movie Superstar alongside a stellar cast of actors like Mahira Khan, Bilal Ashraf and the legendary Nadeem.

Although her first major project IshqTamasha had a talented ensemble cast comprising Junaid Khan, Aiman Khan and Kinza Hashmi; Alizeh was able to shine through in her role and was named Best TV Sensation at the Hum Awards.
However, the project that really boosted her career to the next level was her role in Ehd-e-Wafa where she was paired opposite the young heartthrob Ahad Raza Mir. Alizeh was widely appreciated for her performance in the drama.

She is currently seen in the drama MeraDilMeraDushman opposite actors Yasir Nawaz and Noaman Sami while she had also recently played the lead role in Hum TV’s Jo TouChahey opposite Imran Abbas.

Azekah Daniel
The model turned actor played her first main lead in the drama Noor Jehan and has since appeared in a series of projects but it was some of her more recent work that has made her one of the strongest new actors.
The year 2019 proved to be a massive success for the actor with the prettiest curls as she appeared in three back to back superhit dramas starting with Balaa opposite Bilal Abbas Khan and Ushna Shah.

A gripping thriller that had the audience at the edge of their seats, Balaa was Azekah’s breakthrough project as the audience loved her character caught between the twisted romance between its two main leads.
The same year she was seen in a supporting role in the hugely successful Cheekh. The drama starred Saba Qamar in the lead alongside her Balaa co-actor Bilal where she played Saba’s bestfriend and sister-in-law who gets manipulated by her brother.

Her third hit of the year was Malaal-e-Yaar where she essayed the main lead opposite Mirza Zain Baig. The love-hate relationship and the sizzling onscreen chemistry between the two had the audience waiting impatiently for its episodes.
After a successful year, Azekah is currently seen in the drama Tera Gum or Hum. She’s again paired opposite Zain after the duo’s last successful project.

Usman Mukhtar
Having made his debut with a supporting role in the 2016 movie Janaan, Usman Mukhtar has been making waves on TV after a successful transition from the big screen to the small screen.

The actor, who made his TV debut last year with drama Anna, had the audience and critics singing praises from the get go. His portrayal of Altamash — a brooding young man and the character’s budding romance with Izza played by NaimalKhawar casted a love spell on the audience who eagerly awaited the drama each week.
Usman was particularly praised for his dialogue delivery and screen presence and at one point had even overshadowed the leads.

While his first drama was a massive success, Usman has followed up on it with the currently on air Sabaat co-starring Sarah Khan.
While the drama had already been enjoying a successful run since going on air given its strong storyline, the audience had been much eager to see Usman back on screen as Dr. Haris.
It was no surprise that his first appearance in the drama was followed by a massive increase in its popularity while the actor was again largely applauded for his acting.
