5 Natural Ways To Wash Your Face Without Face Wash

by Pakhi Rajesh Kumar Dixit

Washing your face with face wash laden with chemicals is harmful. Also, using general soap as a replacement is a big NO!

If you are wondering what else there is to be used as a face wash, all you need to do is have a look in your kitchen! Here are 5 natural ways to wash your face without a face wash and let your skin be thankful to you this winter.

MILK

Milk is not just to drink for your bones, but is also a cleanser. Fun fact: Cleopatra used milk to clean her skin. Lactic acid in milk removes dead skin cells. Also, the proteins and fats naturally moisturize the skin. Gently massage a small amount of whole fat milk into your skin. You can also add 2-4 cups of milk to your bath for a quick moisturizing coupled with cleansing session.

HONEY

Honey is a treasure trove of antioxidants and is nature’s own moisturizer. Since it has antibacterial properties, it combats acne, pimples, blemishes and heals your skin at the same time. To use honey as your daily go-to face wash, take a teaspoon of raw honey and gently massage it onto your skin. Leave it there for 3 to 5 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and then pat dry. Your skin will become soft, fresh and dirt free, still retaining all its natural oils.

OATMEAL

Not only a quick and healthy breakfast option, but oatmeal is also one of the best natural cleansers. It is a natural scrub and exfoliator. To use oatmeal as your daily face wash, mix a little bit of ground oats with water or olive oil to make a paste and then massage it gently on to your skin in circular motion. Rinse with lukewarm water afterwards. It will leave your skin moisturised, soft and dewy too.

ROSE WATER

Applying rose water on your skin after removing your makeup, feels heavenly. But it can also be used as a natural face cleanser, leaving your skin toned, fresh and hydrated in one go. Wash your face with cold water and then simply soak a cotton ball in some rose water and dab it on your face. It will also reduce puffiness under the eyes if you keep rose water-soaked cotton balls under your eyes. You can either wash it afterwards with cold water or let it stay on your skin.

POMEGRANATE JUICE

Pomegranate juice is full of anti-aging properties which help in delaying fine lines and set back wrinkles. It is also a natural tan remover. To use pomegranate juice as a face wash, mix it with chilled milk and then apply it on your face. Keep the mixture there for a couple of minutes, then wash with cold water.
